Undeniably one of the most beautiful pieces in my collection, this vintage 1970’s Janet Reger eight panel (gores) silk maxi dressing gown is a goddesses dream!! I’ve never seen another like it in all my decades of collecting vintage. So ethereal and flowy with the most gorgeous drape, the silk is buttery soft and tissue thin with exquisite lace details at the bust and all along the bottom. Adjustable silk ties at shoulders and an abundance of dreamy silk makes this dress one size fits most. Bust measures 21” across max. Such a rare piece of Janet Reger’s legacy! She was a celebrated Britsih lingerie designer in the 60’s and 70’s who changed the way women viewed lingerie, switching the focus from utilitarian to romantic. This piece is not without its flaws….there are spots and stains all over (although she is fresh from the dry cleaner), the biggest being right in the front. These spots remained after a thorough dry clean, so it’s safe to assume they are part of her forever story now. Not surprisingly though, because of the abundance of material, these in no way detract from the drama and elegance of this piece. She’s not perfect, but she is RARE and STUNNING and ready to make a statement. Such a special piece, you could lounge by the pool or get married in it!! *please see photos for aforementioned flaws!!
